Instead of buying Dad yet another tie this year for Father's Day, why not make him his own custom tie?
Here's How:
1.Purchase an inexpensive tie in a solid color. Thrift stores and yard sales are a great source for bargain priced ties.
2.Then, place the tie on a piece of wax paper (to protect the work surface), and go to work decorating the tie with permanent markers or fabric crayons.
Tips:
1.If you're handy with a sewing machine, another option is to sew your own tie.
2.Pictures drawn with fabric crayons need to be heat set to become permanent. Refer to the crayon box for instructions.
3.Permanent markers may bleed on some fabrics. Test on the back of the tie before working on the front.
What You Need:
•A solid colored tie (light colors work best)
•Permanent markers or fabric crayons in a variety of colors
•Wax paper
